Amelia Coffaro is a photographer and producer currently based in the Midwest. Her work is rooted in her connection with nature and the relationship between she and her two sisters who inspire pretty little things. Amelia's most recent work, self portraits with luminaries, begins to explore her deep fascination with light emitting creatures of both land and sea. In 2013, TIME named her personal photo series, walk through cancer, as one of the top photojournalism projects on the web.
Before returning to her hometown of Milwaukee in February 2013, Amelia lived and worked in Brooklyn, New York. There, she held an internship with photographer Stephen Mallon and eventually went on to work as a Producer, collaborating with brands such as Conde Nast, Martha Stewart, Travel & Leisure, AFAR, The Food Network, Wrigley, Glamour Magazine, NYLON Magazine and ASOS among others. Amelia also worked as a team producer for SalaamGarage and served on the Board of Directors for ASMP NY over the course of three years helping to produce the annual Fine Art and Commercial Portfolio Reviews. She currently works with CreativeMornings Milwaukee to help inspire creative connections and collaboration in one of the cities she calls home.
When she is not making photographs, Amelia dedicates her time to teaching therapeutic yoga to people with cancer and chronic illness.
